Platypus Animator

Platypus Animator lets you turn series of images into AVI animations. You can also add sound to your animations.

To create an animation:
Import (or paste from the clipboard) all the images (BMP, DIB, GIF, TIF, TGA, JPG, PCX, RLE)
Place the images in proper order
Add a sound file (optional)
Specify AVI settings, and
Create the AVI file.

If you are likely to change any of the images used in the animation, you can create an AVI project file. AVI project files contain paths to all the images comprising the animation, and provide an easy way to re-create AVI files.

Selecting 'Edit/Options' off the menu lets you choose an AVI compressor and specify its options. For transparent backgrounds we suggest 'Intel Indeo(R) Video Interactive'.

Images of different sizes sometimes cause rendering problems.

To extract images from an AVI file:
Click the 'Extract Images' icon on the toolbar, or select 'File/Extract Images' from the menu
All the samples found will be saved in your 'Samples' folder
Samples will be in the 'SampleXX_YYY.bmp' format, where XX is the stream number, and YYY the image number within the stream
When you extract images from another AVI file, any saved samples will be overwritten by new ones.
